‘Even when we were God’s enemies God made peace with us because His Son died for us.’ (Romans 5:10).
What a confronting message our partners from Moore College are sharing with students this week. We are God’s enemies! He made us but we ignore him, take him for granted and live our lives our own way. And the punishment is death. As one Kindergarten boy said to me straight afterwards: ‘I’m God’s enemy’.
But even when we were God’s enemies God made peace with us. What great love! What a great gift! To make peace with us when we were the ones to blame. And to make peace with us by giving his own Son to die for us. Jesus brings friendship with God. As I said to this little boy ‘but you can become God’s friend.’
Pray that many will understand and want to stop being God’s enemy and become God’s friend this week.
