The much awaited Football World Cup tournament finally kicked off and all our eyes were on the Socceroos. The men from KNAC, along with some invited friends, got together on the 16th June to watch the match live on the big screen. As our first match was against France, we enjoyed some French hors d’oeuvres as well as Aussie snacks before the game started, and then at half time.
The Socceroos were a little slow early in the game but soon found their stride and proved to be a tough opposition to the favourites. Unfortunately, the Aussies ended up going down 2-1 to France, who were just too good.
The evening ended with us toasting the victors with alcohol free faux champagne, and saluting them with “vive le France!” Maybe in the next World Cup we’ll salute the victorious Aussies!
